A Jurnet’s House CIO has been established by the Norwich Hebrew Congregation and others, including the former leader of Norwich City Council, to take the project forward. Jurnet’s House CIO has a board of trustees with a high level of professional knowledge and experience. The current trustees are:

Dr. Peter Prinsley MP. Chair : Labour MP for Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket, former Labour member of Norwich City Council, An NHS ENT surgeon with over 40 years’ experience working in the public sector, former chair of the Norfolk Deaf Association (Hear for Norfolk) and Norwich Hebrew Congregation. A trustee of Norwich Hebrew Congregation over the course of 28 years and Hon Treasurer during the past six years, and Trustee of several other charities.

Dr Marian Prinsley: President of Norwich Hebrew Congregation. Former Sheriff of Norwich, currently Deputy Lieutenant of Norfolk. An Educational Psychologist with many years’ experience working in the public sector. As President of the Synagogue, she is responsible with her trustees for overseeing all aspects of the Synagogue from the building to the employment of staff, religious services, education, health and safety and finances.

Graham Nelson,Treasurer:  Professional town planner and former Executive Director of Development and City Services Norwich City Council.  With a background in strategic planning has spent 32 years working in local government mostly in managerial and senior executive positions.  In addition to managing planning services has also been responsible for management of an extensive property portfolio, including many listed buildings, and securing and overseeing the delivery of multiple large scale capital projects.

Alan Waters: Former Leader of Norwich City Council from 1993-98 and again from 2015 to 2023, with 32 years as a councillor. He has been closely involved with major projects in Norwich including Chair of The National Centre for Writing, appointments on The Forum, the New Anglia Local Enterprise partnership, Norwich Airport, UEA and others. He is the culture lead for Key Cities.

Dr Oren Margolis: Associate Professor of Renaissance Studies in the School of History and Art History at the University of East Anglia and the UEA Lead for Jewish Heritage and Culture. Prior to coming to UEA, Oren Margolis taught at Somerville College, Oxford, and was a member of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin Studies (Austria). He has been awarded fellowships at Villa I Tatti: The Harvard University Centre for Italian Renaissance Studies (Florence) and at the British School at Rome (BSR), where he is currently a Research Fellow. He is also in receipt of a Leverhulme International Fellowship.
 

Adrian Possener: Partner, Birketts LLP (Norwich)

A solicitor since 1989, Adrian joined Birketts in 2006 and leads the Corporate and Commercial Team. He specialises in corporate law, advising on company structures, M&A (public and private), joint ventures, reorganisations, buy-outs, and IT-related legal matters. He has acted on IPOs and securities issues for both Main Market and AIM-listed companies, and handles venture capital and angel investment deals. Previously, he spent 17 years at two leading international law firms. Adrian has also served as a non-executive director of the Bernard Matthews Group and trustee of the family trusts.


Rabbi Roderick Young: A part time Rabbi at Norwich Synagogue and the former Principal Rabbi at Finchley Reform Synagogue, former Rabbi at Leicester Progressive Jewish Community, former Associate Rabbi at West London Synagogue. A well-known and practised community leader, who lives and works in Norwich, he brings to the board a wealth of historical and religious knowledge about the city. An experienced teacher, writer and speaker Rabbi Young also has experience in working with diversity and gender issues.

Monica Petzal: Monica is an artist and writer with a range of experience in the charity and commercial property sector. As well as running the Foundation for Women’s Art between 1990 and 2006 she has been 2009 – 2016 Trustee of the Printmakers Council; 2014 – 2025 Trustee of the Dresden Trust, 2019 – 2025 Vice Chair, The Dresden Trust, 2024 – Trustee of the Curwen Print Study Centre. From 1992 to 2006, she served as a Director and Planning Director of a London-based group of property companies holding over 200,000 square feet of commercial and residential space.
